ABOUT ILUCIDY

Ilucidy is a firm that helps investors, primarily new and/or young ones, form investment decisions by guiding and assisting them through their investment analytical process.

Every investor learns and works differently, which is why we help you analyze prospective investments in a way that makes sense to you. A “one size fits all” approach usually doesn’t work well, and it certainly doesn’t work well when it comes to performing investment analysis.

There are countless investment opportunities available to choose from, yet all of them require a slightly different approach to analyze and understand.

Ilucidy’s purpose is to help investors understand what analytical approach will work best based on their needs and current level of experience.

Ilucidy IS NOT an investment or financial advising company. That is, we DO NOT tell clients what sorts of investments they may want to look at, which financial products they may want to purchase, provide opinions on which decisions to pursue, or offer specific investment strategies.

Ilucidy’s purpose is to help guide clients with their analytical work, and the ultimate goal is that clients eventually understand how to properly analyze a prospective investment and form their own conclusions.

If you want some pointers with anything regarding the investment analysis process, we’ll do our best to provide those, but if you ask us for an opinion such as whether you should pursue a certain investment or to invest in certain countries, no such opinion will be given.

At the end of the day, clients are responsible for making their own investment decisions. Ilucidy serves to help clients get to that point.

We do not sell any online courses, e-books, or other information products.

Ilucidy is focused entirely on our role as a consulting firm that will help you analyze the investments you’re looking at and ultimately reach an investment decision.

The only thing that Ilucidy will charge money for is the consulting service.

To help you along your investing journey, Ilucidy has more than 100 articles (and counting) for you to learn about a wide variety of investing topics. This content is 100% free and more content is always being added on an ongoing basis.

We believe that investors should have the knowledge, thought processes, and mindset needed to think on their own and to make their own decisions. The hope is that the content here will help investors, or soon-to-be investors, develop that intellectual foundation.

Some article categories allow you to leave comments, and you’re strongly encouraged to do so to share your thoughts and provide feedback. We’re always looking for new ways to continuously improve our content.

The articles do their best to make sure everything is conveyed as clearly as possible, but if you find yourself with something to ask or simply want to clarify something please send an inquiry. You can learn how to reach us via our Contact page.

If you have a specific question you want to ask during a consulting session, feel free to ask but please remember that no investment or financial advice will be given.

Again, we are NOT an investment or financial advisory firm. If you’re seeking this type of advice, then we apologize but Ilucidy will not be able to prove that.

WORKING WITH ILUCIDY

We primarily work with new and young investors, ideally in the age range of late teens to mid-twenties. Because Ilucidy is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, we work primarily with Canadian and U.S.-based clients to ensure there are no dramatic differences in time zones.

If you fall outside these criteria but are still interested in our service, please get in touch with us. If you’re serious about working with us, then we will do our best to make accommodations to make that happen.

If no appropriate accommodations can be made, then we apologize but we will not be able to serve you.

Consulting sessions are charged on an hourly basis, and the rate is $40/hour.

However, this price can be pro-rated if your session doesn’t last one hour, or if it goes a bit beyond.

For example, if your session lasts 45 minutes, then you pay $30 because you only used up 75% of the hour.

On the other hand, if your session lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes, then you pay $50: $40 for the first hour, then $10 because you only used up 25% of the next hour.

Your invoice will be mailed to you to confirm your scheduled time and balance owing.

All clients are required to book a session at least seven (7) days ahead of their desired date.

In their application, clients are required to specify which prospective investment they’re looking at (e.g., you’re interested in investing in Apple), as well as what materials they’re currently working with (annual reports, news articles, CFA reports, etc.).

This minimum seven day window is to ensure adequate preparations are made in time for your session. Once the session starts, we can begin discussing right away instead of wasting the entire session trying to figure out what’s going on for the first time.

The goal is that, after working with us, the client has a much better understanding of their prospective investment and can form their own investment decisions, whatever that decision may be.

All sessions will be carried out via a video call. A link to the video call room will be sent to you ahead of your scheduled session. Clients aren’t required to show their faces if they don’t feel comfortable doing so but are welcome to do so if they wish.

The reason video calls are being used instead of a regular audio-only call is that video calls usually allow users to share their screens, which will make it a lot easier to go through documents if needed during the session.

Yes, you certainly can. For example, if you feel that two, 1-hour sessions are better than a single 2-hour session, then you can do that.

The application form will ask if you want to do a multi-session setup, and if so, on which days and at what times.

If you’re looking for tips on how to streamline your analytical process, which approaches to take when performing analysis, or anything else related solely to the analytical process, then we will do our best to ensure you get a satisfactory answer.

However, if you ask us for an opinion on the investment you’re looking at, or if you want an opinion on whether to buy or sell, no such answers will be given.

Remember, Ilucidy is not an investment or financial advising company, meaning we will not be telling you what specific actions to take. Our role is strictly to help you with your analytical work: whether you decide to pursue an investment operation or not is solely up to you.

GENERAL BUSINESS INQUIRIES

Sorry, but we don’t accept any sort of advertisements or sponsored posts. However, we are open to collaboration with other companies whose vision closely aligns with our own. If you’d like to collaborate with us, please reach out.

Because our consulting service involves us providing our time, we have a firm no-refund policy.

We understand that life happens, after all we’re all human, so we do our best to make accommodations to suit your needs if you’re serious about working with us.

However, if we feel that your accommodation proves to be too burdensome to us or starts to interfere with the needs of other clients, then we apologize but we won’t be able to go the extra mile to suit all your needs. This is to ensure all clients receive high-quality service, without favouring one over another.

For example, although our official consulting days run from Monday – Saturday, we can potentially make arrangements for a Sunday session, but a session at 10pm on a Sunday evening is pushing the limits of an already extraordinary circumstance.
